Keeping route information current
Roads, restrictions, services, and ferry arrangements change. Each guide shows its research method and last review date so you can judge what still needs checking.
How guides are updated
The editorial team maintains route facts, sources, GPX files, and review dates as versioned content. When information changes, it checks the affected guide against authoritative sources and updates the relevant text, metadata, or track. A new source or observation alone does not upgrade a route's verification method.
A guide marked Needs review remains available with that warning. Read how routes are researched and reviewed for the meaning of each method and review label.
Check before you ride
Route pages link to road-condition publishers for each country on the route. Check the relevant road, border, ferry, park, and weather information before departure. A guide or the absence of a closure notice is not a guarantee that the route is open or safe today.
For an active danger, closure, emergency, or illegal access, contact the relevant authority and follow current official information.
Reports and submissions
The pilot currently has no public correction-submission channel, contact form, or route-submission service. This page explains the editorial review process; it does not accept reports.
